THIXO TYPE

It is a method of producing alloy products by injecting plastics by lowering the viscosity of magnesium alloy with applying pressure to semi-molten magnesium alloy. The excellent dimensional stability allows for production of high-quality products, and the equipment is suitable for magnesium-plated products.

BAR APPLICATION TYPE

This is similar to the cold-chamber die-casting machine; it also has melting cylinders on the top and injection cylinders parallel to each other at the bottom. The substance is dissolved in the melting cylinders first and then transferred into the injection cylinders; and the production of the materials is completed through the molding and injection processes. The continual supply of the bars instead of magnesium chips is different from the Thixo-type machine. The high density of the molding enables thin-plate molding (0.3 mm) and facilitates molding of complex shapes.

COLD CHAMBER TYPE

Separating molten metal from the injection mold part increases the pressure of the casting; fine and even texture is required. This is mainly used to produce medium- to large-size thick components.

This is a representative method of metal processing that creates various shapes by putting compressive force on the metal board to deform the plastics; the method has been used for automotive chassis, precision camera parts, and watches

1. PEO ( Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation )

  • 1) New Surface Treatment Technology for Magnesium, Aluminum, and Titanium
  • 2) Induce disruption (breakdown) of high voltage on base metal (substrate)
  • 3) The surface of the metal is strong, with low porosity and modified into the metal oxide ceramic layer with the good adhesion

Painting Technology

  • Powder Coating

1. Powder coating

1) What is powder coating?A coating method using a powdery resin in which conductor is coated with synthetic resin in powder form.
When the coated object is pretreated and powder having a particle size and specific gravity suitable for electrostatic painting is applied, it passes through the drying furnace at a temperature of 180 °C for 20 minutes, the powder gradually melts into a liquid, becomes hardened, and is cured onto the coated object.

  • The coating thickness is about 60 microns
  • Actual organic solvent or water is a useless ingredient for film formation, therefore, remove such ingredient and use only resins

2) Electrostatic Powder Coating MethodA method of spraying a negatively charged powder under high voltage onto a grounded substrate to electrically adhere it to the coated substrate, followed by heating and dissolving.
Powder coatings, once attached, generally do not fall off from the substrate during setting because they are difficult to be discharged due to their high electrical resistance and when the powder coatings are attached to a certain thickness, they strongly repel each other and do not adhere with a thickness greater than that (electrostatic equilibrium phenomenon). This phenomenon makes the film thickness of the coating uniform.

2. Corrision Painting

1) What is a corrision painting?A coating method for forming a coating film using a varnish by covering drawings of ingredients for protection of ingredients, aesthetics, etc

  • Particularly excellent weatherability, excellent gloss and gloss retention, excellent color and color retention
  • Good coatability
  • Excellent mechanical properties, chemical resistance, and adhesion
  • The stoving temperature is generally higher than 150 °C compared to amino alkyd resins
